About the job
The Design, User Experience and Media team is a dedicated, professional, supportive and knowledgeable group of people who work creatively to deliver outstanding qualification and learning resources products and services for the UK Schools and Colleges market. Within the group, we have a dedicated team that lead on the design and delivery of our paper based exam papers. The teams focus is on providing design technical skills and expertise, design consultancy, layout and typesetting of material, whilst ensuring the adoption of design and accessibility standards. We are looking to recruit a Design Manager to lead this team of designers. The role requires leadership around design best practice, stakeholder engagement, vendor management and digital processes.
The Exam Paper Delivery Design Manager role is responsible for overseeing the design and typesetting of the exam papers, by the in house team of designers and suppliers. The role will provide expertise in the production of exam papers, to the highest level of accuracy, ensuring the security of the item is maintained throughout the production cycle.The role requires strong vendor management skills, to lead on consolidated supplier solutions and cost reductions for the delivery of secure and non-secure qualification material.

What we are looking for
The Exam Paper Delivery Design Manager role, requires skills and experience:
To oversee the typesetting and amendment of exam papers, undertaken by in-house designers and suppliers.
To provide expertise in the production of exam papers, to the highest level of accuracy and quality, ensuring the security of the item is maintained throughout the production cycle.
To support the delivery of the UK Schools supplier strategy; to drive consolidated supplier solutions and cost reductions.
To demonstrate strong budget and cost management
Develop and motivate a team of design professionals.
Lead on and champion process improvement, including cost saving initiatives and technological advancement in design and technology processes
To be proactive, flexible and adaptable to change.
Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively leading a team and building relationships with key stakeholders
Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy
